Hidden away in its own corner of Hill Farm, Ox House is our off-grid cabin for two, with space for up to two children tucked away in the cosy mezzanine above. Built on the site of an old ox hovel, it’s a peaceful little hideaway surrounded by open Warwickshire countryside.

Clad in larch with a traditional tin roof, Ox House has been designed to feel as though it has always belonged here. Inside, it’s warm and cosy, with timber walls, soft fabrics and plenty of character, all looking out over the fields beyond.

Spend slow mornings with coffee on the deck, curl up beside the wood burner with one of the books from the shelves, play a board game after supper or sink into the outdoor copper bath as the sun goes down. It’s comfortable, beautifully considered and wonderfully removed from everyday life.

From £170 inc VAT per night.

STAY

The main bedroom has a king-sized bed with an upholstered headboard, beautiful bed linen and views across the surrounding farmland. Above the main living space is a cosy mezzanine sleeping area for up to two children, making Ox House a lovely option for couples who want to escape on their own as well as families looking for a more adventurous stay. The living space centres around the wood burner, with comfortable seating, a carefully curated collection of books and board games and plenty of places to simply sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.

BATHE

The cabin has its own bathroom with a hot shower, proper flushing loo, soft towels, bath robes and lovely Bramley products. Outside, the real treat is the copper bath on the deck. Fill it up, pour yourself a drink and settle in with uninterrupted views across the farm. Guests can also make their way across the farm to our spring-fed wild swimming pond and wood-fired sauna for the full Hill Farm experience.

COOK

The kitchen has everything you need for an easy few days away, whether that means a slow breakfast inside or supper cooked outdoors as the sun goes down. Outside, there’s a simple outdoor kitchen with a Big Green Egg BBQ for cooking over charcoal, as well as a Kadai fire bowl for cooking over the flames. It’s a lovely spot for long, relaxed evenings - cook supper outside, toast marshmallows over the fire or simply sit out with a drink as the sun goes down. We’ll leave you a welcome hamper a few treats and eggs from our chickens to get you started.

LARDER

Breakfast hampers filled with local produce can be ordered in advance, along with our own Hill Farm lamb for cooking over the fire. We’re also very happy to take delivery of an online food shop before you arrive. Or, if cooking feels rather too energetic, there are some brilliant country pubs, farm shops and places to eat nearby, all listed in our digital guest book which you’ll receive before your stay.
